Impalpable And Careful To The Environment. Word Of Shaft Jeans

Shaft Jeans was born in 1968 with Monsieur Shafir, a French designer who moved to Tuscany for love. French style meets Made in Italy, giving life to a feminine, chic, iconic brand that stands out for its perfect fit and 70s silhouettes. The production is completely Made in Italy, the garments are characterized by a continuous research in style, advanced production techniques but also back to the origins such as hand-made embroidery and hand-painted denim. After a change of ownership, the very young Letizia Palchetti Tosi has managed the company since 2016. She started from a degree in design in Politecnico di Milano, attended courses at Central Saint Martins in London and worked in denim companies in New York.

The First Memory Related To Fashion?

As a child, my hands stained with blue while playing among the denim patchesI loved drawing and above all coloring, I could spend whole days combining shapes and colors.

Luxury Is…?

Feeling good about your body. Fashion is a tool but the real goal is to celebrate your body, always.

What Characterise Shaft Jeans Womenswear World?

A tradition of denim creators for more than 40 years combined with continuous innovation in fits and fabrics. We have many fabrics that are exclusive, first of all our “denim silk“, a jeans with a silky hand, soft and saggy, perfect for all large volumes. In addition, all our collections stand out with hand-made details, such as embroidery, prints and effects made one by one. Among these, this season the color brush technique stands out: the garments are literally hand painted on all seams, creating a fresh and charming effect.

What Are The Inspirations, Materials And Trends Of The Next Collection?

Longing for lightness! This is given by very light and fresh fabrics such as cotton linen, or techniques such as tie-dye in which the trousers are tied and dyed one by one and always different color effects are created. As for the volumes, the jeans will be wide, very soft and impalpable.

In Which Direction Is The World Of Jeanswear Moving?

Attention to sustainability has become our priority. We use organic denim and denim washes with low environmental impact. Our collections have always been made with natural and noble fibers such as organic cotton, linen and cashmere.

What Changes Has The Lockdown We Just Experienced Brought In Terms Of Style And Personal Care?

The lockdown has taught us to value the value. Aside from the pun, I think many have understood that it is better to buy less but with more quality. We no longer need fast fashion, I think it is important to be aware of what we wear and try to give value to the work behind each item of clothing we buy.

A Style Icon, Of Yesterday Or Today.

Lauren Hutton, yesterday and today.

What Do You Never Leave Home Without?

A pair of my jeans!
